Aging in place refers to remaining in your own home as you grow older—something most people prefer as they envision their golden years. But aging in place is about more than just the intention to live at home; it requires proactively adapting your space to support continued independence, safety, comfort, and well-being even as health needs evolve.

Onni Home was founded by a husband-and-wife team with firsthand experience navigating aging-in-place solutions for their own family members. The idea for Onni Home grew from a desire to help other families in Boulder County start meaningful conversations about aging in place—and to create personalized, practical solutions that make aging at home a sustainable reality.

These are conversations we've had across three generations with our own loved ones, beginning with Hannah’s great-grandmother, who aged in place in her daughter’s home until she passed at 101; Hannah’s grandmother, who lived independently until the age of 86; and now with our own parents, who are active, healthy, and in their 60s and 70s—planning ahead to continue living safely and comfortably in their homes for years to come.

Through these personal experiences, we’ve learned two important lessons:

First, aging in place looks different for every individual—there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

Second, it’s never too early to begin the conversation about aging in place and begin planning and modifying your home for successful aging in place.

At Onni Home, we draw on our diverse professional backgrounds to take a personalized and holistic approach to aging in place. Our services include comprehensive home safety assessments, expert home modifications (from small modifications to full-scale renovations), customized aging-in-place planning, and referrals to trusted community resources.

We believe aging-in-place planning shouldn’t be a source of stress—for residents in our community or their families. Our goal is to help clients prepare their homes thoughtfully, both for today and for the future. Most importantly, the solutions we offer provide peace of mind—for our clients and their loved ones—so they can focus on what matters most: living life to the fullest safely, comfortably, and happily—on their own terms.
